How do I identify an official U.S. Army App?

Official U.S. Army apps include three identifiers and all three indicators must be present. If any of the indicators are missing, it is not an official U.S. Army app.

First, the app icon will have the official U.S. Army star and its registered trademarked symbol.

Second, the app icon will have distinct yellow borders.

Third, when you open the app's About page there must be present this specific text, "***This has been branded as an Official U. S. Army app***"

Where do I get U.S. Army apps?

All official U.S. Army apps are listed in the TRADOC Application Gateway (the "TAG").

Using your mobile device's browser, go to https://tag.army.mil

Click on the "I don't have a CAC" tab and sign-in using your AKO login credentials.

Click on the blue Download button and install the TRADOC App Gateway app (the "TAG App").

Then open the TRADOC App Gateway app and login using your AKO login credentials.

You will now be able to download U.S. Army apps to your mobile device.

What does the acronym "TAG" mean?

What is the purpose of the TAG?

The TRADOC App Gateway (TAG) is the Army's App Store. The TAG hosts and serves unclassified, non-FOUO (non-For Official Use Only), public releasable apps for the U.S. Army's Soldiers, Leaders and DA Civilians. The TAG also hosts and serves unclassified, non-FOUO, public releasable e2Books (enhanced electronic books).

What is the URL for the TAG?

Am I authorized to install TAG Apps onto my personal smartphone?

U.S. Army Soldiers, Leaders and DA Civilians are authorized to install TAG Apps (all of which are public releasable) onto their personal mobile devices (smartphones, tablets, etc.).

How do I upload an App or e2Book to the TAG?

How do I login to the TAG from my CAC-enabled workstation?

Using your computer's browser, go to
https://tag.army.mil

Select the "CAC Login" tab and insert your Common Access Card (CAC) into the card reader; then Sign in.

Note: You will need to have an up-to-date AKO account.

When I click on an app in the TAG nothing happens!

After logging into the TAG on your CAC-enabled workstation, you click on an app and nothing happens.

Please ensure your browser allows pop-ups (shut off your pop-up blocker).

Why do I see a white-screen-of-death when accessing https://tag.army.mil?

Disable or remove any Ad blockers or content blockers that are interfering with the loading of the TAG homepage.

What is the purpose of the TAG App?

The TAG App serves as a "bridge" between your smartphone and the TAG (which houses and serves U.S. Army apps).

In order to download U.S. Army apps to your smartphone; you must first install the TAG App onto your smartphone.

Then you login to the TAG App in order to download apps from the TAG onto your smartphone.

How do I install the TAG App onto my smartphone?

Follow these instructions when downloading the TAG App onto your smartphone:

When opening the TAG App, I receive an "Untrusted Enterprise Developer" message.

On your iOS smartphone, select
SETTINGS -- GENERAL -- DEVICE MANAGEMENT -- ARMY TRAINING SUPPORT CENTER

Tap TRUST

My TAG App is not working.

Delete your TAG App from your smartphone.

Then, reinstall your TAG App.

Why do I see a white-screen-of-death when accessing https://tag.army.mil?

Disable or remove any Ad blockers or content blockers that are interfering with the loading of the TAG homepage.
