Advanced SCORM Topics

SCORM has areas that present challenges that have proposed solutions and work-arounds. Most of these topics are not targeted for inclusion in SCORM specifications and SCORM adaptors are free to act in their own best interest. These are areas that contractors could implement in an effort to provide added value to enhance efforts to win government contracts.

Cross-Domain Scripting

This ADL Paper on Cross Site Scripting is more of an explanation.

This web page, ADL Cross Domain Scripting Solutions, is focused more on providing known and tested solutions.

Test Security

Here is an excerpt from Section 9 of the Carnegie Mellon Best Practices Guide for the Design and Development of SCORM Assessments, Securing Your Assessments:

This whitepaper, SCORM Content Vulnerability Workarounds, addresses workarounds to recognize when a learner has tampered with the SCORM API, this could be an effort to “manually” post a passing grade.
