Baseline Home Computer Configuration

This page defines the minimum computer configuration required to play distributed learning (DL) courseware. This baseline is intended to be compatible with Classroom XXI Student Workstation Configuration and the Digital Training Facility (DTF) Student Workstation Configuration.

The Classroom XXI Student Workstation Configuration and the DTF Student Workstation Configuration represent hardware and software configurations required to display “Legacy”, “Commercial-Off-the-Shelf,” and future courseware.

This page focuses on the computer configuration required to play courseware.

MINIMUM COMPUTER CONFIGURATION

 
1.1 Central Processing Unit (CPU) Intel Core i3 or equivalent, 3.0GHz or higher clock speed
1.2 Random Access Memory (RAM) 4GB or greater
1.3 Sound Card DirectX 11.0 compatible or integrated on board, external speakers are recommended.
1.4 Graphics/Media standards. See AVLE Contract, AKO Log In RequiredArmy Golden Master Program (AKO) and Digital Training Facility (DTF) Student Workstation Configuration for additional specific graphics/media standards.
1.4.1 Must support a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels extended graphics array (XGA). Compliant computers may not correctly present courseware designed for resolutions higher than 1024 x 768.

1.4.11 Unity™ Unity™ Plug-in: Government approval must be obtained before designing content dependent on the Unity player.  Using Unity as a development tool must be requested before or at the submission time of the initial IMDP.

1.5 Hard Drive 1 Gigabyte free storage area
1.6 Optimize Courseware for Broadband of 512kb/s  
1.7 CD-ROM/DVD RW Drive quadruple-speed (4X) or faster with maximum access time of 250ms
