Introduction to Distributed Learning Instruction Course (IdLIC)
in REDESIGN
1. COURSE DESCRIPTION: The IdLIC
is a two-day (16-hour) stand alone block of asynchronous Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI) accessed online
via Blackboard (Bb). IdLIC presents the concepts, processes, and principles required to effectively deliver both
synchronous and asynchronous dL instruction. The course provides the basic knowledge required of instructors who
will present training/education using all forms of distributed learning. Since the information in IdLIC applies
to both synchronous and asynchronous dL, it will be a prerequisite for the Asynchronous Distributed Learning Course
(AdLIC) and the Synchronous Distributed Learning Instructor Course (SdLIC).
Specific topics include: dL Instructor Knowledge Requirements, dL Environment, Adult Learning in dL, Role of dL
Instructor, and Team Member Roles.
2. TARGET POPULATION:
Army instructors who will deliver training/education via synchronous and/or asynchronous distributed learning (dL).
3. COURSE PREREQUISITES:
Certified as an instructor (successful completion of the Army Basic Instructor Course (ABIC) or other TRADOC
approved instructor training course) and requirement to instruct via dL technologies either asynchronously or
synchronously.
4. WAIVERS:
None
5. STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE:
Students must earn at least a 70 percent on the performance based post assessment. Students may only take
the assessment twice.
Students may receive course credit by earning at least a 70 percent on the course pre-assessment. Students may
only take the pre-assessment once.
Students passing the course receive a certificate of course completion.
