Blackboard Familiarization Training (BbFT)
1. COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Blackboard Familiarization Training is a self-paced course designed to teach the fundamentals
of using the Bb learning content management system as a student and/or instructor. Bb Familiarization
Training serves as an introduction to Bb functions and features, using the Bb platform as the delivery
modality. Bb Familiarization Training is broken into 5 interactive multimedia instruction (IMI) lessons
and includes other related web resources. Each IMI lesson presents information about a key component
of the Bb content management system. IMI lessons and web resources are designed to be completed within
a typical 8-hour day. However, because the course is self-paced, individual course durations may vary.
Bb familiarization training is available as self-paced interactive multimedia instruction in Bb by
contacting the U.S. Army Training Support Center Staff and Faculty Division.
Specific topics include: System Overview and Navigation Tools, Control Panel Features and Functions,
Adding Content to Bb, Communication Tools and Functions, and Assessment Features and Functions.
2. TARGET POPULATION:
The course is designed to familiarize novice instructors/developers with the Bb content management
system.

5. STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE:
Bb Familiarization Training consists of 5 IMI lessons and related web resources. In order to
complete the course successfully, the student must complete all IMI and review related web resources.
6. MANAGEMENT:
